These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and NaijaHook (CAC Registration Number 9749447). By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines.
1. What NaijaHook is
NaijaHook is a software platform that helps consenting adults (18+) in Nigeria discover people nearby, communicate, and — if both people independently choose — arrange to meet in person.
NaijaHook is not a meetup organiser, a dating agency that guarantees matches, an escort service, a paid-companionship marketplace, or a payment platform between users. We do not arrange, supervise, sell, or take a fee for any in-person meeting. We do not employ users. We do not represent that anyone you meet is suitable, truthful, or safe.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter this contract. Accurate information is required. One account per person. You are responsible for your login details. Profile photos should show your face. Verified Profile requires a live selfie that matches your main photo.
3. Licence
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use NaijaHook for lawful, non-commercial use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features.
4. User conduct
You must comply with Nigerian law and these Terms. You must not:
- Use NaijaHook for any illegal purpose, including fraud, blackmail, harassment, cyberstalking, identity theft, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, or any other crime.
- Impersonate anyone or run fake, cloned, or stolen-identity profiles.
- Solicit, send, or receive money, bank details, gift cards, or crypto from other users (including “kito” and romance scams).
- Offer or request paid sexual services, escorting, or paid companionship via NaijaHook.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or share someone’s private images or information without consent.
- Upload illegal, harmful, sexually explicit, or non-consensual content, including nude or pornographic photos and videos. This can lead to an immediate ban.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the service.
We may remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts. We may report activity to law enforcement.
5. Meetups and offline conduct
If you meet anyone in person, that meeting is solely between you and the other person. NaijaHook is not a party to it, does not supervise it, and is not responsible for anyone’s words, acts, omissions, or crimes before, during, or after a meeting.
You agree that:
- You will meet in public places, tell a trusted person, and use your own judgement.
- You will not rely on NaijaHook to vet, background-check, or guarantee any user.
- You assume all risk of any in-person interaction, including injury, theft, fraud, or other harm, to the fullest extent allowed by Nigerian law.

6. No payments between users
NaijaHook does not facilitate, process, hold, or settle payments from one user to another. Users must not use the app to charge each other for dates, meetups, time, companionship, or any other activity.
Any money you pay to NaijaHook is only for Premium access to our software features (section 8). Paying Premium does not pay another user and does not buy a meetup.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of content you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service (including watermarks on shared media). You warrant that you have the rights to post it and that it does not break the law or these Terms.
8. Premium and payments
Free accounts have limited Discover, chat, and related usage as shown in the app.
Premium is an optional subscription for extra NaijaHook platform features only (for example higher or unlimited messaging, a Premium / verification-related badge, and other in-app benefits listed at checkout).
- Prices are in Nigerian Naira (currently ₦1,000 / month or ₦2,500 / 3 months, or the amount shown before you pay). See Pricing.
- Payments are processed by Paystack. Card and bank data is handled by Paystack, not stored in full on our servers.
- Premium is not a payment for meetups, dates, other users, or any offline activity.
- When a plan ends, Premium features stop unless you renew.
- Except where Nigerian consumer law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable once digital Premium access has been provided.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that users are who they claim to be. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, NaijaHook, its operators, officers, and agents are not liable for:
- Conduct of any user, online or offline.
- Any meetup, date, or in-person interaction.
- User-to-user payments or scams (which are forbidden on the platform).
- Loss of data, profits, or goodwill, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
- Events beyond our reasonable control.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim (or ₦10,000 if you paid nothing). Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded (including fraud by us).
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify NaijaHook against claims, losses, and costs arising from your content, your use of the app, your meetups, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law — except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
12. Reporting and law enforcement
Use in-app Report and Block. We may preserve and share information with law enforcement when legally required or when we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users or the public.
13. Termination
You may delete your account in Settings or via Delete account. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for breach, risk, or legal reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (including 5–11) survive termination.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos, Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
